What is NixPulse Power?

Measures how forcefully buyers and sellers push price away from the prevailing trend, splitting each bar's action into two separate reads — Bull Power and Bear Power — rather than a single blended value.

How It Works

A baseline trend line is calculated as an EMA of closing price over the length period. Bull Power is the distance of the bar's high above that baseline. Bear Power is the distance of the bar's low below the baseline. Plotted together, the two lines show the tug-of-war between buyers and sellers relative to the trend.

Signal Interpretation

  • Bull Power rising while price trends up confirms buyers pushing above baseline with growing force.
  • Bear Power falling while price trends down confirms sellers extending their grip below baseline.
  • Bear Power turning up during an uptrend can flag fading selling pressure.
  • Bull Power turning down during a downtrend can flag fading buying pressure.
  • Both readings compressing toward zero suggests indecision.

Tips & Best Practices

  • Read Bull/Bear Power together with the direction of the baseline trend.
  • Use divergence between price extremes and Power readings as an early warning of trend fatigue.
  • Shorter length values suit swing trades; longer values suit position-level trend confirmation.
