What is NixPulse Reversal Signals?

An overlay tool that plots markers on price wherever momentum extremes and price action line up to suggest an exhausted move, reducing the false-signal rate of using RSI extremes alone.

How It Works

The tool tracks RSI over rsiLen against the ob/os thresholds. When RSI pushes into overbought/oversold territory, it watches for a confirmation candle where momentum fails to make a corresponding new price extreme. Only when both the extreme reading and confirming behavior are present does a marker print.

Parameters

ParameterDefaultDescription
rsiLen14Lookback period for the underlying RSI calculation
ob70RSI level above which conditions are considered overbought
os30RSI level below which conditions are considered oversold

Signal Interpretation

  • A marker above a candle after an overbought reading flags a potential bearish reversal.
  • A marker below a candle after an oversold reading flags a potential bullish reversal.
  • Markers without RSI crossing back through the threshold are weaker confirmations.
  • Consecutive markers without a real reversal flag range-bound RSI hovering.
  • Markers aligning with support/resistance carry more weight.

Tips & Best Practices

  • Treat markers as alerts to watch price action closely, confirming with the next candle or two.
  • Raise ob and lower os slightly on strongly trending instruments to reduce premature signals.
  • Combine with NixPulse Trend Strength to avoid fading markers against a very strong trend.
